What the extension does

Second Opinion adds one button to Amazon product pages. It reads the public product information on the page you are viewing (title, price, list price, brand, rating, rating count, star distribution, badges, seller, Amazon's review summary and visible review excerpts) and sends it to our server so an AI model can produce an independent opinion of that product. For some users this check runs automatically shortly after a product page loads.

What we collect

• Product page content as listed above, together with the product's ASIN, the Amazon storefront and your browser language. We store this to improve the quality of verdicts and to understand which product categories people check.
• An anonymous install id. The extension generates a random id when installed and stores it in your browser. It is not linked to your name, email or Amazon account. We use it to count free checks, to remember a Pro subscription and to measure how the extension is used (for example whether a verdict was opened).
• Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. We receive the email address you give at checkout and your subscription status so we can activate Pro. We never see your card number.

What we do not collect

No browsing history, no pages other than the Amazon product page you are on, no Amazon account data, no personal information beyond what is described above. The extension does not run on any site other than the Amazon storefronts listed in its permissions.

Sharing

Product page content is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the opinion, under Anthropic's commercial terms, which do not permit training on that data. Payment data is processed by Stripe. We do not sell data and we do not share it with anyone else.

Retention and deletion

Check logs are kept for up to 24 months. To delete everything tied to your install id, or to cancel a subscription, email [email protected]. Uninstalling the extension removes the install id from your browser.
